Deep Tissue Holistic Massage Hereford

The Natural Way to Better Health

Benefits of Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage is the manual treatment of the deeper layers of muscle tissue. The work is slow, deep, and very specific - working either against or with the fibres of muscles, tendons or ligaments.

Among the many benefits of Deep Tissue Massage:

reduced pain
improved sleep

reduced stress and anxiety

improved mobility;
increased range of motion (ROM);
restored ease of movement
reduced muscle hyper tonicity, tension and spasm
reduced scar tissue and other fascial adhesions, which can improve  both circulatory and nerve function .
promote circulation (of both blood and lymph)
reduce ischemia (by releasing hypertoned muscles and reducing facial adhesions, thereby improving circulation)

A classic deep tissue move is slowly running the point of the elbow down the length of the spine, next to the vertebrae. This releases both superficial and deeper muscles. I use my knuckles, hands, elbows, and forearms during deep tissue massage.

Contrary to a widely held myth, deep tissue massage doesn't have to hurt to be effective. If you are specific, you can go deep. By using my anatomical knowledge and understanding of how muscles and tendons work,  I can work effectively on very deep structures without causing pain.  Sometimes however,  there may be some discomfort but typically you will notice improved mobility almost immediately, and any discomfort usually disappears within a day or two.
